What is the Online Media Syndication System (OMSS)?

The Online Media Syndication System is designed to provide a centralized resource of high-quality online media content that can be accessed by related Web sites, blogs, personal web pages, etc.

Syndication benefits both the centralized resource and the Web sites displaying it. For the receiving site, content syndication is an effective way of adding video and audio material with very little effort. For the transmitting site, syndication drives exposure across numerous online platforms, and leverages the effort expended in the creation of online materials.

Both media and player are hosted on our servers, which are located in strategic locations in the world, to provide excellent video quality and viewing experience. Adding a small snippet of code to your website enables you to take advantage of the media and the player effortlessly.

What is special about the technology used?

The video player automatically detects the optimum video material according to the user's connection speed. Video starts playing immediately with no need for buffering or delays. A full-screen mode is also available. Users can play from any portion of the video without waiting for download as with other technologies. See more details on the Player help tab.

What kind of content is available?

The OMSS contains entire webcasts of events, short video clips, special compilations, as well as other related material. You can subscribe to our mailing lists to receive alerts when new material is added.

How do I take advantage of this?

The key word is "syndication." All materials tagged as "free" can be easily incorporated into your website, blog, or personal webpage, by inserting a short snippet of code. Information about this is provided with each clip on the Media List.

Can I see some samples of how this works?

See these samples: Minimal playersmall video, with some player controlslarge-size video, with all player controls. See also an example of a syndicated video posted on a blog.

What do the different controls in the video player do?

Check the Player help tab for details about the different player controls and what these do.

What about material that is not tagged as "free"?

To request permission to embed that material, including the URL of your Web site and the intended placement of the video.

What about materials in languages other than English?

As the system grows, we will be adding materials in a variety of European and Asian languages.
